Approved to BS EN 62444:2013, the quality manufactured STORM® range represents a major advance in armoured cable glands, bringing together the latest design techniques and ultra-modern materials to offer substantial benefits for installers, such as the innovative anti-rotational design, which allows the upper assembly to rotate independently of the brass armour-clamping ring, eliminating the damaging effects of rotation on armour wire.

The high-quality, flame-retardant polyamide used for the cap and outer body is entirely halogen-free, helping them meet the increasing demands required for safety in buildings and public spaces. STORM® glands also require a lower tightening torque than conventional glands and can be quickly inspected by simply unscrewing the gland’s upper assembly, making installations quicker and easier.

STORM® glands have also been designed with non-metallic outer bodies, which means no shroud is required to protect against corrosion. This great design feature not only reduces the installation time, but also solves multiple problems that conventional plastic shrouds pose, including the inability to check the integrity of the armour clamping after fitting, and the fact that shrouds themselves trap water, actually causing the corrosion problem they are supposed to avoid.
