In this video Robbie Cross shows us how to correctly terminate a cord end terminal often referred to as Bootlace Ferrules and End Sleeves. Cord End Terminals are designed to terminate a cable for fitting screw type terminal blocks or connectors. The crimped terminal protects the exposed wire from damage and results in a stronger connection.
Summary
- If you haven't already, strip your wire 6mm.
- Put the terminal into the correct die in the tool for the wire and terminal size. Remember the wire goes into the tool from the sides with the numbers on.
- One click with the tool should hold the terminal in place.
- Position the wire in the terminal.
- Fully cycle the tool to create the strongest and best connection possible.
