How To Correctly Terminate a Cord End Terminal

In this video Robbie Cross shows us how to correctly terminate a cord end terminal often referred to as Bootlace Ferrules and End Sleeves. Cord End Terminals are designed to terminate a cable for fitting screw type terminal blocks or connectors. The crimped terminal protects the exposed wire from damage and results in a stronger connection.

Summary

  1. If you haven't already, strip your wire 6mm.
  2. Put the terminal into the correct die in the tool for the wire and terminal size. Remember the wire goes into the tool from the sides with the numbers on.
  3. One click with the tool should hold the terminal in place.
  4. Position the wire in the terminal.
  5. Fully cycle the tool to create the strongest and best connection possible.
