Conditions: Exposure to solid foreign objects.

Technical Task: Seal cable entry for armoured cables while maintaining mechanical strength and providing strain relief. It ensures mechanical cable retention and electrical continuity via armour wire termination.

Recommended Product: BW Industrial Type indoor extruded brass cable gland.

Metric Sizes: M20s to M90.

Compliance: BS 6121 Part 1:2005.

Ingress Protection: IP2X rating.

Technical Notes: Supplied in packs with locknut, earth tag, and shroud. Operating temperature range: -20°C to 90°C.

One-Piece Cable Gland Solution for SWA, SY and CY Cables

A faster-fit gland option for installers working across multiple common cable types.

Conditions: Exposure to dust, moisture, and weather requiring ingress protection.

Technical Task: Seal cable entry for SWA armoured cables and SY/CY braided cables while maintaining mechanical strength, strain relief, and environmental protection.

Recommended Product: STORM® One-Piece Cable Gland.

Metric Sizes: M20 to M63.

Compliance: Tested in accordance with BS EN 62444.

Ingress Protection: IP68 rating.

Technical Notes: STORM® glands are designed to offer improved ingress protection and faster fitting compared with conventional armoured cable glands. They are suitable for SWA armoured cables, SY and CY braided cables, require no shroud, and feature a UV-stabilised, zero-halogen body.

The range also includes longer thread lengths compared with standard type glands: 17mm on sizes M20s to M32 and 22mm on sizes M40 to M63.

For quicker installation times, STORM® is also available in STORM Taurus™ packs with EarthingNuts™, or E-STORM™ packs with EarthFix™. Both options provide a more convenient earthing connection method compared with traditional earth tags and locknuts.
